Mid-Year Review: Radix Consult’s Impact in 2025

As we cross the mid-point of 2025, Radix Consult is proud to reflect on a dynamic portfolio of impactful projects, partnerships, and capacity-building initiatives across Ghana. Here are some highlights of our work so far this year:

February:

RADIX CONSULT conducted a transformative leadership and conflict management workshop for 16 Regional Coordinators of Assemblywomen and the Women‘s Caucus Representative of the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG). Using experiential learning, we navigated  the everyday and unique challenges that Assemblywomen face as leaders particularly in meeting expectations of their constituents.  For these women, it was a double whammy as they have to deal with gender stereotyping which questions their abilities and suitability for the role as leaders in the communities and within the local governance systems.  We supported them to reframe their leadership identity by reflecting on their strengths and weakness, define their vision and develop strategies to translate vision into actionable steps and how to communicate same to garner support and build formidable work teams.

The workshop provided an opportunity for strategy sharing between a group of experienced Assemblywomen and newly elected Assemblywomen.

Building on our previous assessment of 660 VSLA groups in Barry Callebaut-Nyonkopa Cocoa Buying Limited’s supply chain in 2024, Radix Consult supported the digitization of 33 high performing VSLA group. This included the transitioning of the VSLAs’ paper-based record-keeping onto tablets. Financial contributions and payments were also linked to mobile money operations enhancing efficiency and security of funds.  This work aims to enhance the efficiency and transparency of their operations.  With these this batch of the VSLAs operations digitized, Nyonkopa is on the pathway to enhancing financial inclusion for farmers within the supply chain.

March:

In March, as part of the #International Women’s Day celebrations, Radix Consult’s Development Implementation  wing,  the Migration and Rights Lab (MRL), in partnership with the Ghana Enterprises Agency facilitated a half day seminar on Financial literacy and leadership for a cross section of the Bono Ahafo Women Cocoa Farmers Cooperative.  A cooperative of more than 7000 women cocoa farmers.  The event was held in Techiman, the Bono East Regional Capital. The inspiring women were taken through strategies for enhancing their financial literacy and management skill to accelerate their business growth.

This workshop was organized on 27th March 2025, by the International Trade Centre (ITC) and was in line with the International Women’s Day 2025 theme “Accelerate for Action”. This workshop aimed to strengthen the capacity of WLBs in Ghana’ cocoa value chain by addressing key thematic issues critical to their growth and sustainability.
